Recovery

Today I have been mostly recovering.

Whilst I wasn’t smashed last night, I was defiantly not sober.

That coupled with not getting to bed until around 3am, (The Negotiator was on when I got home, and I needed something to watch whilst I ate my Kebab Shop burger and chips.) means that I have not had a very productive day.

I think it’s my age, back in the good old days; I could finish my 17 hour shift, go out clubbing until the early hours and then be back at work for 6am the following morning, and do that at least 3 nights a week. Nowadays 1 night put takes me the rest of the week to recover from.

I did try to write some more of SFU, but my head wasn’t in it, I managed a meagre 280 words before I decided to give up. The only positive being that Chapter 2 is coming along nicely, it’s almost the same length as Chapter 1 now, although I’m 99% sure that I am going to need to rewrite most of it, but I do at least have a framework with which to work with.

Anyway that is all from me tonight, my brain is still pretty fuzzy and concentrating on anything is tough.

Have you considered that it is more the result of the lifestyle you are used to/desire, not your age? That’s not a criticism, as I’d suspect it’s more that when it comes to sleeping light, and going out a lot, you’re just out of practice, and generally don’t have the desire or motives to be in-practice 🙂 I wouldn’t say anyone in their early thirties incapable of it, but you’d need to have the same kind of reasons you had when you were seventeen. Otherwise, you are suggesting that you are now sufficiently past peak health that your are having to make concessions to your body, and that you are only going to get worse from here on in. I’d argue that peak health, up until the forties really start taking their toll, depends a lot on lifestyle and motivation, not treating your body like it is made of glass 😀
