All Around the World

OK before I get started I should let you know I’m ok, I managed to make it through today’s ordeal. No kids spoke to me and I managed to narrowly dodge the “which one was best/worse” question from the Wife’s boss. That’s all I can say on the subject im afraid due to the hastily scribbled NDA I had to sign before setting off this morning.

On to tonight’s topic.

The Views by country is probably my favourite feature of the stats page that word press provides, it gives me a warm glow to know that the things I write are not only reaching those people that I know in real life, but also various people that I have interacted with over the web.

Since its beginning as well as the obvious UK readers, I have managed to acquire what seems to be a fairly regular US base, on top of that I have received views from Canada (I’m pretty sure they are family ), Australia, Belgium, Ireland (potentially family as well depending on if Word press knows the difference between North and South), Poland, Sri Lanka, Germany, Russia, Sweden, India, Singapore, Holland, Slovakia Austria, New Zealand, Bulgaria, Finland, Italy and even Saudi Arabia.

This along with the referrer’s stat lets me know that I have reached people that I really have no idea how they found me. Sure some are from twitter, some are from comments or Likes on other peoples Blogs and a majority of them are from Facebook (i.e. people I know in RL)

It is both weird and satisfying to know that somehow through the magic of the internet there are people out there with no known connection to me, who find what I write interesting, or at very least the tagging that I am doing is helping unsuspecting Googlers find what they think may be an informative post (I’m sorry) on the subject that they are searching for.

I’m pretty obsessed with the amount of Likes, Followers and Views that I get on this blog and it would seem I’m not the only one. I read two blogs today on exactly the same thing. You should check them out as they both do a far better job of communicating the point that I was attempting to.
