Bloggers Block

I’ve started 3 different blogs this evening and each one has gotten about a paragraph in, only to be hastily deleted upon my realisation that I had nothing more to say on the subject.

Obviously a Blog post doesn’t have to be long but it should at least be interesting or reach some kind of conclusion. None of them was doing this. I didn’t feel strongly enough about any of the topics to really sink my teeth into them.

Which now leaves me with a conundrum; I need to write something to continue my Post a Day streak which has by now I’m sure hit an all time personal best. At the same time I realise as I am writing this that this rambling meets none of the criteria that made me delete the others in the first place.

I guess what I am saying is that posting everyday is really hard. I take my hat off to those that manage it, and gaze in awe at those that not only manage this but at the same time ensure that what they are writing is in fact worthwhile and not simply words to fill the page (much like this is!)

There are days when it’s easy, something has happened at work, in the news or on the TV. Days where this day in History gives me some nugget of gold that inspires me to write something that at very least, I find interesting.

Today is not one of those days.

My question to those people is how do you do it?

Do you plan in advance a number of topics that you wish to write about? Ive toyed with this idea, I even created a spreadsheet to fill in where I could place a topic, helpful links and what day I would post it. I didn’t get very far though, planning really isn’t my thing.

Any suggestions are welcome, I’m drying up here and I want to at least make it through to the end of the month posting everyday and if truth be told I would like it to continue well beyond that!
