I thought I would start my Thursday Night Gaming post with my thoughts on a title that I got a lot of genuine enjoyment out of and paid less than a £10 for!

I saw this game advertised on Steam and after watching the trailer, as an avid Final fantasy and Zelda Fan I just had to have it!

The game takes the standard RPG levelling up system and instead of applying it to you the character, your upgrades instead apply to the game itself, which is pretty awesome.

Starting in a GBA style, green tint included, and working up to somewhere in the realms of FF9. Every area/upgrade and puzzle had me feeling huge waves of nostalgia, the constant reliving of my childhood was a joy in itself, but perhaps surprisingly this wasn’t just a gimmick it’s actually a decent game as well.

The puzzles whilst not difficult are exactly as you would expect in a Zelda game, the combat is straight out of Final Fantasy and the art work is well generic SNES/PS1 RPG. There is even a Diablo 2 inspired section although if I’m honest this is probably the weakest part of the game.

The only real negatives where how quickly the game transitioned from each stage of the RPG genre and that the game simply wasn’t long enough.

If you haven’t yet i really suggest you pick this title up and give it a go!
